Nevada 3D Championship Circuit  CANCELLED due to low registration numbers

The Nevada 3D Archery Championship is an exciting event for archery enthusiasts, typically featuring various 3D targets set up in natural environments to simulate real-life hunting scenarios. Participants will shoot at life-sized animal targets as well as some 2D targets made of foam, placed at different distances and angles, making the competition both challenging and engaging. Targets will be set at distances from 3 yards to 101 yards.

Nevada 3D Archery championship circuit format:

Shoots will utilize existing club 3D shoots for tournament circuit.

Clubs would run shoot as it currently exists (marked, unmarked, safari dots, kill rings, 1 arrow, 2 arrow, ASA) and charge shoot fees as they did prior to collaboration with NBHA circuit.

Changes when competing in Nevada 3D Archery championship circuit

Participants in the Nevada 3D Championship circuit must be flighted. Circuit shooters would shoot in a group to maintain the integrity of scoring.  Requirement wouldn’t necessarily be same division shooting together but actual Circuit competitors be flighted with those shooting with their kids having to group with non-family members.

Nevada 3D Archery championship circuit participants will need to pre-register for the circuit as to let clubs know who is shooting in the championship so they can certify shooters scorecards.

  • Shooter wanting to participate in State 3D series championship will need to register by March 1st, 2025.
  • Master senior (70+) – $60
  • Silver Senior (60 through 69 year of age) – $60
  • Senior (50 through 59 year of age) – $60
  • Adult (18 through 49 year of age) – $60
  • Young adult (15 through 17 year of age) – $40

 FLIGHTING

“Flighted competitors” in an archery context this typically refers to participants being grouped into divisions or “flights” based on skill level, age, or equipment type. This allows archers of similar abilities to compete against each other, making the competition more balanced and enjoyable. Here’s how it generally works:

  1. Age divisions: Such as youth, young adult, adult, senior, silver senior and master senior divisions, to ensure fair competition among different age groups.
    1. Master senior (70+)
    2. Silver Senior (60 through 69 year of age)
    3. Senior (50 through 59 year of age)
    4. Adult (18 through 49 year of age)
    5. Young adult (15 through 17 year of age)
    6. Youth (12 through 14 year of age) NOT FLIGHTED
    7. Cub (11 and under) NOT FLIGHTED
  2. Equipment Types: Archers are grouped based on the type of bow they use, such as recurve, compound, barebow, and traditional.
    1. Freestyle (FS)
    2. Bowhunter freestyle (BHFS)
    3. Freestyle limited recurve (FSLR)
    4. Barebow (BB)
    5. Traditional (TRAD)
    6. Nevada outlaw (OL)

Standardized definition based on club’s input:        Nevada Outlaw

Flighting is a great way to ensure that everyone, regardless of their experience level, has a fair chance to compete and enjoy the events.

2025 Series

13 Club shoots.

A competitor can shoot all 13 shoots.

  • only your 6 best shoots will count towards the championship. This allows shooters that are only able to make some shoots due to conflicts. (Redding, BTB, USATS, family, etc.) or if a competitor had a “off day” and wanted to attempt a better podium finish at another shoot they would have that opportunity.

Podium/Point race for the circuit would be a descending model with the highest points set for 1st Place. Descending to a minimum point value at a determined podium position. So, for sake of example: NBHA would award 6 points for 1st, 5 for 2nd, 4 for 3rd, 3 for 4th, 2 points for 5th and 1 point for 6th and below. The rationale is that a last place competitor could still be in the race depending on the other competitors result but would simply give up the circuit with no points earned to date.

When a non-championship series shooter podiums

2nd Place – John McJohnny – In championship series – 5 points

3rd Place – Harry Mullet – In championship series – 4 points

TIE BREAKER

Now with only so many shoots counting towards point total, potential for ties exists.

Tie breaker

Number of 1st place series finishes followed by 2nd, 3rd on down counting 6 best scores

as before. In the unlikely event there is still a tie a shoot off will be scheduled at a location

convenient for the shooters.

SCORES

NBHA would ask the club to certify the shoot card (signed off, stamped) and take a picture of

certified shoot card, send to designated phone number or email address within 2 days. This is due to competitors knowing where they rank before the potential next shoot.

Club rules would be followed, if a shooter is disqualified per club rules NBHA would follow suit and disqualify shooter. NBHA should let the club run shoot as they always have, scoring, and rules.
